RS-485/2: WinNT 4.0 memory management system error

When installing a N.I. RS-485/2 serial card into a system running WinNT 4.0, the following message is obtained through the Event Viewer:
"The hardware locations for COM'X' could not be translated to something the memory management system could understand," where COM'X' is either the 1st or 2nd of the N.I. COM ports.
The memory addresses obtained through the NI Ports panel are cff0 & cfe0, and remain so even after changing the COM port number through this utility.
The card is being installed into an Intel Desktop Board, model D815EEA2 w/o optional hardware installed.

All steps outlined in the troubleshooting sections of both the printed and online manuals have produced no results. When the card was tested on anot
her system running WinNT 4.0, the card was fully functional.
The latest service packs for NT and the newest BIOS update have also been installed with no positive results.

Are there known issues of this type with this motherboard, and what measures must be taken to resolve this problem?

1) In the BIOS, change the Non-plug-and-play setting to Plug-and-play to see if that makes a difference. (We all know that Win NT is a non-PNP OS, but maybe this will give some idea of what's happening.)

2) Try the board in different slots, in case it has to do with the boards not being able to map the I/O cycles across the PCI bridge.

This motherboard is not optimized for the use of Windows NT. Using a different operating system (Win2k)completely fixed all problems with this card.
