Have you been able to communicate with the device at all through the software provided by Keyence?  I would recommend establishing communication first with the device through the software provided by the manufacturer.  I found it here:

If you continue to have problems, verify that your serial port is working correctly:

You can also look for more troubleshooting information here:

Hope this helps.

   Hi Erin..

Thanks for your feedback.  I already call Keyence and they send me the software for the scanner, I have
my scanner working good right now, But I'm not using the software from  Keyence.  I read carefully the
data sheets and I made the scanner to work.

Now the problem I'm having is with IMAQ applicaction.    I need to overlay a rectangule over an  image
I know there is a VI with a input ROI Descriptor,  but what I need is to overlay a rectangule just using
4 numeric controls.    I'm thinking  two ideas,  1) Create a ROI Descriptor as a control, so far I couldn't
figure out.   2) Using 4 numeric controls in a simple way.....

        I'll appreciate any help.

All this is for a  automatic Inspection system that I'm currently developing.I have an 80% complete but
need to depure a little more.

         Thanks
