Reading A and R channels of the HP8753ES

Dear community,

I have again a question regarding the HP8753ES VNA. This time I would like to query the raw data from the A and R channels. In my experiment I cannot measure S11 directly, so I have to disable the output on port 1, measure R at "R channel in" and the incomming signal A at port 1. Then divide them so that S11=A/R.

My problem is how to disable port 1 as source so that only "R channel out" is a source and how to get the A and R arrays.

I tried the latter with "MEASA;OUTPFORM;" however this returns only real numbers. I tried "MEASA;REAL;OUTPFORM;IMAG;OUTPFORM;" but I don't know if this is correct, because I only got one array instead of two and all values were alternating around +/- 10^-2, so it looks just like noise, but the screen shows a clear maximum and minimum.

I have also uploaded the programmer's guide and code examples by the manufacturer.

Were you able to confirm that the Instrument indeed supports that method and you need help with finding the right set of commands?

I was not really able to confirm this, also because this is my first time using a VNA this way. But I can confirm that, in my opinion, comparable devices like the ZVR by Rohde & Schwarz can do this.

I have also uploaded a sketch of my setup.

Maybe I am also just stupid and getting the signal at R_in is not necesary, since it should be the same at R_in and Port 1.
