Reading and writing to FTDI chip with VISA

Have you tried sending the termination characters? It would be odd that the micro sends them but does not expect to receive the same.

Yes I've tried sending termination characters as well. The micro is programmed here in house and I'm very familiar with its operation. I believe the problem to lie somewhere in the labview communication over USB.

I don't know what else to suggest except using portmon to capture the traffic.
