Have you tried installing the PCI card in another computer? This will help isolate the problem to the card or the computer.

I have tried the PCI GPIB card in another slot and also on another computer but still see the wrong vendor and product ID so the PCI GPIB card is definitely damaged.

We have acquired a new GPIB-USB-HS (National Instruments) from our local distributor and it is working perfectly with the software  installed.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this discussion.

I still am interested to know if anyone has any suggestion as to how the PCI GPIB card could be repaired.
