Remotely access PXI

Hi, I'm trying to remotely access (through the Internet)a DAQ board within a PXI platform. I've tried to do this using remote VISA but in MAX I'm only able to see the PXI Backplane (but not the DAQ and other instruments). I'd like to know if there is any way of remotely accessing and controling instruments within a PXI platform. Thanks in advance

Hello,

Can you please give me some information regarding your PXI system? What LabVIEW version, NI-DAQmx version, PXI chassis and DAQ board are you using? Also, are you using a real-time controller?

Thank you,

I'm using a NI-PXI 1042 with LabView 8.2 and DAQmx 8.6. The DAQ we have installed on the chassis is PXI-6251. We don't have a real-time controller installed.

Thanks

Hi Vici4u,

Are you able to see all the cards in the chassis when you are not using remote access? Are you using VISA Server to remotely control your PXI system? If yes, you are not going to be able see your DAQ board. This is because the driver is DAQ based and is not using VISA function calls. I would recommend using Remote Desktop.

Thank you,
