Resource Manager has encountered a serious problem and needs to close

After loading the .NET 2.0 framework, resman no longer runs to completion. It locks up.

When it reaches "Initiating normal operation" on the status line, the Microsoft error box appears:

VXI Resource Mananger has encountered a serious problem and needs to close.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

The error signature accessed through the error box is:

AppName: resman.exe AppVer: 4.0.0.209 ModName: niresmanengine.dll

ModVer: 4.2.1.47 Offset: 0000eb89

I removed VXI 3.3.1 and then re-installed it - but to no avail.

I tried to attach the error file that is sent to Microsoft, but this message could only accept 5000 characters.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
