Simple computer controlled switch for analog signals (BNC)

Hello :)

I have a two-color (UV-NIR) photodetector which comes with two BNC terminated outputs. The signal is measured with lock-in amplifier, which has only one input. The problem is that during measurements I must switch detector's outputs  manually at certain moment. I would love to get a computer controlled preferably USB device that has several BNC inputs and one output with a function to switch between analog input signals.

What would you suggest me to buy from the point of view either:

1. Costs
2. Future scaling. Maybe in future I would need a motorized mechanical rail.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. I already have GPIB HS-USB controller from NI.

Hello,

I am affraid that we do not have such a simple solution for you in our offering. For the complete offering in switches please visit:

Thanks for your replay, RikP.

I have found a simple device, that can do switching I need. Actually the correct key word was "BNC relay", not "switch" 🙂 Here are examples of such devices: http://www.surplussales.com/Relays/rfcoaxialrelays/rfcoax_bnc.html

Coax relays are controlled by electrical pulses of usually 12 V. Can I buy something from NI that can produce such pulses? I bear in mind a mulitifunctional
(DAQ?) device, that could be also usefull in future, for instance to control mechanical motion?

Thanks!
