Tektronix RSA306B USB to NI MAX

I am trying to get a RSA306B spectrum analyzer to be recognized by NI MAX.

-The RSA306B is connected to the computer through USB 3.0

-The device shows up in device manager under USB controllers

-I have downloaded the drivers provided by Tektronix for the RSA306B

-I'm running Windows 7

With the RSA306B plugged in while Tektronix SignalVu-PC is running or not, the device does not show up in NI MAX under Devices and Interfaces.

Is there something that I am missing for the RSA306B to be recognized by NI MAX?

Are you able to use it on the Tektronix Software or is this spectrum analyzer meant to be used in LabVIEW?

Have you installed NI-VISA on your computer?

Thanks for the response.

The spectrum analyzer works fine on the Tektronix software and I have NI VISA downloaded as part of the package I downloaded NI MAX from.

From what I have read from other discussions on this subject here:

https://forums.ni.com/t5/Instrument-Control-GPIB-Serial/RSA306-USB-Device-with-MAX/td-p/3163269

I believe the SignalVu software has to be running for NI MAX to recognize the device, because it provides GPIB emulation. The poster in the thread I linked to was able to get his RSA306B to link to NI MAX, so I believe I must be missing a step.

This is the first time I've needed to use a program like NI MAX, so I could be missing some obvious step.

Is there something extra that needs to be done besides: Installing NI VISA and NI MAX, downloading the drivers and SignalVu for the spectrum analyzer, plugging in the device and starting SignalVu, and then refreshing NI MAX to see if the device is recognized?

If it provides GPIB emulation for the device you might need the NI-488.2 driver
