Tektronix TDS 3032B serial port

I am trying to acquire data from a Tektonix TDS 3032 via a serial port, I have downloaded the drivers from here:

I have connected the scope to LPT1 (is this correct?) on my PC with a 25 pin serial cable when I run the VIs in the project that come with the drivers it gives me the following error:

Error -1073807302 occurred at VISA Clear in Tektronix TDS 3000 Series.lvlib:Clear.vi->Tektronix TDS 3000 Series.lvlib:Initialize.vi->Tektronix TDS 3000 Series Single Channel Waveform Acquire.vi

Possible reason(s):

VISA:  (Hex 0xBFFF003A) Unable to start operation because setup is invalid (due to attributes being set to an inconsistent state).

I feel that I am missing something fundamental, but can't work it out.

Jack,

LPT1 is a parallel port.  You need to be using a serial port on your PC.
