The device did not respond to a*IDN? query

Ran "Scan for instruments", unable to recognize Agilent / Hewlett Packard 3458A to the GPIB bus.  I receive the following error: 

The device did not respond to a*IDN? query

Correct GPIB address: 22

I am using GPIB-USB-B connector to PC.

Is there a quick fix this problem?, it recognizes everything else on the bus, but not the 3458A.

That instrument does not support the *IDN? command, which is why there was no response. There is no quick fix, but it doesn't really matter - as long as you can see it show up in MAX at the specified address then you can talk to it.
