W2K-system with NI PCI-GPIB card. Opening MAX and "Scan for Instruments". The Newport PM 500 is NOT detected. Message: " No instruments connected"

May be you need check configuration of PM 500 for remote control. I mean interface types: GPIB, RS-232, USB, LAN etc.
