USB device not present in VISA resource list

Hello,

I looked for the manual on Ocean Optic's page to see if the device would log as COM1, but only found the following page.  Have you tried using COM1 or LPT1?

USB2000 Miniature Fiber Optic Spectrometer

Hi,

I might have the solution to your problem as I had the same issue.

I had installed the USB2000 with spectra suite and Omni Drivers prior to trying to use it in LabVIEW.  Then, I tried it in LabVIEW by downloading the help>download device drivers> ocen optics > usb2000 drivers, but VISA did not recognize it and neithere did MAX.

THE SOLUTION:

I went to my program manager and un-installed the drivers for the USB2000.  I think they might have been named "winUSB ocean optics driver" in the uninstall program manager.  After I did that, it worked perfectly.  MAX recognized the device and so did the VISA.

Good luck

And don't forget to read the help in the html file of the NI-Ocean optics driver.

Use the correct inf file from the correct directory for installing.

It works good and gets better each few months.
