Uncustomised serial communication baud rate

Currently i'm trying on an uncustomised serial(asynchronous) communication that operate at a baud rate of 500000kbps. But the Labview NI Visa Configure Serial Port subvi keep returning error if key in uncustomised baud rate. Is the NI Visa not able to support uncustomised baud rate? Or do i need to update the NI-Visa?

It's also a question as to hwether your hardware supports this rate.....

AFAIK, VISA does allow "custom" rates, but only if the hardware plays along....

In addition to shane

try a number of baudrates around what you really want until the error disappears.
sometmes you need an exact fit on a divider from an internal frequency for the hardware.

I have used non-standard baud rates with NI-VISA, with no problems.  Are you communicating to a SICK unit?

I'm very sure the sample unit trying on is a good unit. Current NI-Visa not able to support by PC com port. Agreed with Shoneill, need external hardware; NI PCI serial card, PCI-843x to support. Just wondering is there any alternatives to solve it.
