Did you mean:

VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0015)

Hello,

Currently, I'm using a GPIB-USB-HS controller, but I keep on getting an error message: VISA:  (Hex 0xBFFF0015) Timeout expired before operation completed.

It seems connected, however I can't do anything with it. On the other side is a Bertan 225 series power supply. Here is the IdMAX screen of the VISA:

Connection through Measurement & Automation Explorer:

Thanks,

Andrea

It should not be showing up as RAW. What driver did you install?

Would it need a driver?

It's a very old system - would I be able to get a driver to the computer somehow?

All hardware on a pc needs a driver. That's basic knowledge.

You need at least NI-488. You'll have to find the most appropriate yourself since you have not provided your os or what you will be developing with. Basic information.

It's a windows 7 system ... yea I know better.

This would mean I would have to develop my own driver, correct?

The driver I'm looking for is not in the database

There is certainly a Windows 7 driver and if you tried to use the VISA Wizard to create a driver, that is just wrong. What driver do you think you need?

I'm thinking the driver I would need would be of the power supplies installed on the computer. However, I can't find the driver of the particular power supply available, so I would have to seek other options in order to make this work. I'm not really sure how to approach it beyond this point.

You don't need a LabVIEW driver for communication to an instrument. You can write your own or use the VISA functions to read/write. None of this explains why you would use the VISA wizard. Do you in fact have the GPIB controller with its driver installed? After that, everything should be straight forward. What is the make and model of instrument?

Never mind, you said it was a Bertram. That command in you first post is just gibberish. Did you make that up?
