I've been trying for a while now to install VISA on my system (Windows 7 x64) and no matter what I do the installation keeps failing with the error message:
"The NI-VISA x64 support [version] has failed."
I've tried deleting anything related and removing all the related registry keys I could find, nothing seems to work.
I did have Multisim 10 installed some time before so I'm wondering if that could be the cause of this problem.
At the moment I'm totally out of ideas.

Hi Chryseus,
There's a couple of different possibilities as to why NI-VISA is not installing, but hopefully one of these will fix the issue!
Firstly I'd suggest right-clicking on the installer in the setup executable and selecting "run as admin", then trying to reinstall. Even if you're logged onto your computer as an admin, sometimes this still needs selecting.
Secondly, are you trying to install the VISA driver files into the default folder? On Windows 7 x64 there are folders both for "Program Files" and "Program Files (x86)". The x86 version is for your 32-bit programs, so make sure you are trying to install into the "Program Files" folder.
It's unlikely that the issue will be due to previously installing MultiSim as the majority of NI products will work alongside each other without any issues. However I would recommend just using the uninstall option in future and try to avoid "deleting anything related" in case this has accidentally deleted any important files from your computer. (Fingers crossed it hasn't!).
Just a quick reminder to install software in the order of 1) Environment, 2) Modules, 3) Toolkits, 4) Drivers & finally 5) Hardware - then when the VISA install is successful, you'll be able to use it with the rest of your software.
Hope this all helps and let me know how you get on,
