Hello,
I'm using Labview 8.5.1 and installed VISA 4.5. I connected my computer to an Agilent DSO5014A oscilloscope through an ethernet cable. I installed the corresponding driver (I even tried the 2 versions found here http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.model_page?p_model_id=10256).
In "Measurement & Automation Explorer" though, after clicking on "Devices and Interfaces" and then "new", the device is not automatically found and the manual entry of IP Adress is not more successful. (I checked that my Ethernet port works and the cable aswell)
Any idea?

Hi Felix,
have you tried to ping the scope:
A very common reason is, that the firewall is enabled. You may deactivate it from here: Start -> Systemsteuerung (Settings) -> Windows Sicherheitscenter (Secury Center) -> Firewall -> Disable
Are you able to find the scope in MAX (Measurement and Automation Explorer) now?
Best regards

Thanks for the answer.
I guess the Firewall was the problem. It finally worked but still not automatically recognized. I had to enter manually the IP adress.
Thanks for your help!

Well, the IP - thing seems to be related to the AGILENT driver. Sorry, but I have no possibility to test it, because I do not have of one of these scopes. By the way: great timing 🙂
Best regards from Munich

It must be on the same subnet and also support VXI-11 device discovery to be automatically recognized when you are adding the TCP/IP resource.
