Where can I get a copy of IPassign?

I need to use a GPIB-ENET (not the  100 version) with LabWindows 8.1. LabWindows has a wizard for the 100 version, but it does not work with the older model. It appers that I need to use the older IPassign utility, but I can not find a copy on the NI site.

SteveW,

Are you currently using Windows XP? If so, please reference the following KnowledgeBase: How do I Install a GPIB-ENET on a Windows XP System?

Thanks.

Sarah,

Thanks, but that KnowledgeBase article is how I knew that I needed IPassign. I just updated my LabWindows installation with 8.1.1, and IPassign is not contained in the GPIB-ENET directory. It only contains files that appear to be specific to the GPIB-ENET/100. So, back to the question of how to locate a copy of IPassign.exe?

SteveW,

You will need to use an alternate operating system to assign the IP Address. The alternate system will have the proper GPIB-ENET wizard. Download NI-488.2 for Windows and GPIB-ENET on the alternate system. You are able to download the drivers from the GPIB Driver Versions for Microsoft Windows and DOS page. You then are able to use the instructions from the following KnowledgeBase: Unable to Assign an IP Address to the GPIB-ENET in Windows XP to assign the IP Address.

Please let me know if you have any troubles with this. Thank you for your patience.

Sarah,

So I have to go find a PC running something other than XP (which I do not have), load a bunch of software, all to simply change the IP address on the box? To say that this is awkward is a gross understatement!

Thanks for your help.

SteveW,

I also wanted to let you know that the IPassign.exe can be found at the following location: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-488.2\GPIB-ENET.

Sorry that was not posted previously.

SteveW,

When I downloaded the NI-488.2 2.2 driver, it provided the IPAssign.exe file already. When you install this driver, is it not installing it properly?

Please let me know.
