Where is the cib.c file provided by NI in Linux 488.2?

File cib.c according to NI's documentation is provided in NI-488.2 for Linux installation.

I could only find cib.o file.

thanks.

Apollonios,

cib.o should just be the compiled version of cib.c. What are you trying to do? Why are you interested in cib.c? Where did you see that this should be included? It is not mentioned in the readme file for the latest NI-488.2 driver.

I did see cib.c mentioned as part of an NI-488.2M package. As far as I can tell, this is an obsolete driver that is currently not available. I will try and find more details on this driver.

Peter,

thanks for the quick reply. It is true that the latest releases of 488.2 do not include cib.c as some earlier did.

My interest in this file is due to the fact that we are developing applications that use multiple NI GPIB controller types, manufactured in different years, for multi-platform environments ( various flavors of Windows/Linux/Solaris ) and obviously we want consistency and as little uncertainty as possible. Having access to this code gives us that.

Is this file (cib.c) available for licensing (Windows/Unix version)?

thanks.

Apollonios,

I did verify that the documentation on the 488.2M driver that mentioned the .c file is quite old. As far as the source code for our recent NI-488.2 drivers, this proprietary code is not something we typically make public. If you are under special circumstances, or have an urgent reason for needing this code, you can call into the Applications Engineering department to discuss the possibility of gaining access to these files.

Hope this helps, have a great day!
