Why NGER error in dialog box sometimes appear, halting program until I push continue

I am running Labview6 and Windows 2000, doing very simple acquisition every few minutes from Agilent instruments in continuous loop. Every few days a dialog box appears with GPIB error NGER, asking me to push "continue" or "abort." Program is happy again after I push "continue" Is there an explanation? or is there a way I can just make the push of "continue" automatic? Thanks

This sounds like the Knowledge Base: "GPIB Communication Succeeds in IBIC, but LabVIEW Returns NGER or EDVR Error". Try doing a serach for NGER at ni.com. This knowledge base should appear.
