Why can't I use GPIB Analyzer with my GPIB-USB-B hardware?

When I try to run GPIB analyzer using my GPIB-USB-B adaptor, the program indicates that it cannot find GPIB+ hardware and opens in a disabled mode.  NISpy and MAX both indicate the GPIB-USB-B is installed and the GPIB troubleshooter shows no problems.  The NI488.2 software packaging material has the correct part number for the USB hardware.

It says you don't have the correct hardware because in fact, you don't have the correct hardware. The GPIB analyzer is only for GPIB+ products that have a built in anlayzer. Yours does not and I don't think, any of the USB controllers have the analyzer functions. You can still use NI-Spy to view traffic. You just can't look at the low level signalling.
