Hello,
Have you tried disconnecting your current device and connecting a completely different device to the GPIB board? If you do not observe the same behavior, then the problem lies with your current device itself and you should talk to the device manufacturer. If it does observe the same behavior, then problem does lie with the GPIB board and we'll try to tackle the problem.
Also, do you have GPIB+ board or just GPIB? If you have GPIB+ board, you can try and run the analyzer. The analyzer will give you all the information about every communication taking place in between the board and the device. If you have just the GPIB board, try running the NI-spy which will give you a high level driver communication information.
