No - I have never solved this, and it is very irritating and has cost me sales with my customer.

It seems like this problem is not yet resolve, also encountering the same problem on my Quad-core industrial PC with Windows XP OS.

Already installed latest NI 488.2 driver (version 3.0) but problem still occuring.
