Hi,
Does your DL7440 has another interface. I use DL scopes with GPIB and Ethernet and that works fine.
When I find the time I will try my DL1740 with USB but this might take a while....

Hi
it does have a gpib port and a usb one. Thats it. The Version i have got is without a ethernet connection.

And thanks a lot for taking the time for trying the usb port

But, let me guess, you don't have a GPIB interface on your computer ?

No not realy.
Well I already suggest my supervisor to get a GPIB to USB cable cause i hope that this works. But the thing is that i am in New Zealand and the guys from the electrical engineering department said they dont have this sort of thing. And to buy one is quite expenisve. Round about 1000 NZ $. 😞
Do you reckon its better to use the gpib port rather then USB?

Yes, it is a lot of money for just one interface for one instrument.
I use the DL together with other instruments, so this is easier with GPIB. btw. is you have a test-setup with 10 instruments like I have you pay twice this amount. Good cable are also expensive.
For one instrument I don't think GPIB is better than USB but it depends on your use.

@ KC: Hi
I some how think it works now. But not sure, there are still a lot of error messages coming up but i keep trying.
For example I used the getting started.vi. After I change all Visa Classes from Instr to USB RAW the big Arrow on the upper left corner turned from broken and grey into a white one. But sitll it wouldn't measure things.
You said you use a Yokogawa device ,too. Can I ask you a few questions regarding the commands used in Lab View?
Kind regards

You can always ask and sometimes you will get the answers

Hi
It somehow works now. I just had to change the visa instrument class to USB Raw since Intr is the default value.
But if I use the readmeasure.vi which should measure a signal it only replys NaN. I figured out that it means not a number.
and it uses the command meas:chan1:ptop:val?
I guess it has to do something with the format but i don't know how to change it. Can you help me?
