i want to read a available COM port and insert in to the text ring control...

right now i am using VISA Resource name, some times it taking tooo long time to display the avalilable comport...

You can convert the visa resourcename to a string easily and use the strings property of a ring to fill it.

Presumably this is something you are doing at program startup? Are you trying to present a more user-friendly listing than what's automatically displayed by the VISA resource control?
