Hi there,
I'm with a group that's been using a cRIO for a few months. It's been running fine since May with an embedded app running on the controller without any changes. Today, I wasn't able to connect to the target (right click on the target in the project explorer>connect) even causing LabVIEW to crash. I went to MAX to try reformatting and reinstalling the NI-RIO software. Re-formatting worked fine, but when I go to install software, it gives me "Operation failed with error code: 61". The FPGA is actually still running a VI that was downloaded to its flash memory.
The only strange thing that happened to this unit recently was when it was hooked up to a weak power supply, and the cRIO may not have had enough power to turn on properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated! We were in the process of putting together some footage for NI Week!

okay, I called into support, and apparently this is a compatibility problem between NI-RIO 3.1.1 and LabVIEW 8.6.0 (it needs 8.6.1).
We got around this by downgrading to NI-RIO 3.0.1. Its a known issue and there should be a Knowledge Base article about it soon.
