can i use the rs485 auto 2 wire mode on a 232 port ?

i am communicating with a current loop device and i have a current loop to rs232 converter.  I need to suppress echoes and wondered if there was a way that I could use the echo suppression in the 485 Auto 2wire property???

Hi,

The voltage levels at RS232 and RS485 are different. 

Is it possible to disable the current-loop receiver while the transmitter is active to cancel the echoes ?
