cheapest and easiest way of RS232 monitoring

Hi all, I have 8 electoronic gram scales that have RS232 interface.

What would be the easiest way of implementing this with 200-500ms delay? I wan to use Labview to do this.

CompactRio or NI ENET-232/4, or other options?

USB to RS232 devices in 1/2/4 port versions plus 1-2 hubs if needed...

Once I had around 10 of them on one PC without any problems. (plus 2 build in)

Each port was running in a seperate loop. (independend vi running in background, called by vi-server)

I remember some trouble with the com10(11?)/printerport, but that was more than 8 years ago,  I think the newer visa driver fixed that, or at least there is a KB article about it..

As I mentioned here, 8 port USB->RS232 adapters are available and inexpensive. Don't see how a CompactRio fits into the solution.

Hey Oganes,

We do have a PCI 8 port RS-232 device, found here : https://www.ni.com/en-us/support/model.pci-8430-8.html
