compact rio rs232

Hello, we are 3 students of engineering at the University of Palermo.We have to acquire an analog signal and use the rs232 port on the chassis of a compact rio 9014 to send data to another device that acquires signals through serial port.Can we use the serial port as output of the compact rio 9014 and pick up a signal?
