ds345 instrument not found

Solved!
Go to solution

I have a Standford Research Systems Function Generator (DS345) that I'm trying to communicate with using a GPIP-USB-HS. The GPIB-USB is recognized by the Measurement & Automation explorer, but the DS345 is not found.

I've downloaded the driver (Labview 8.0 version since I'm running 8.6) but those VI's return a "; DS345 Send Message" error.

Any advice for getting the DS345 recognized?

I've tried restarting and reconnecting everything a few times to no avail.

Ok, stupid questions first...

Is the instrument connect via the GPIB cable?

What is the GPIB address of the instrument?

Is it the only instrument on the GPIB bus?

The driver is, of course, irrelevant. Besides what crossrulz said, check the instrument to see if you need to enable GPIB.
