help with installing GPIB-USB-HS

I bought a GPIB-USB-HS several days ago for acquiring data from Nicolet Pro 40.
I installed the driver(Ni-488.2 2.4) of GPIB-USB-HS sucessfully on WindowsXP for the first time, and it works fine.

Then I downloaded the labview driver for the Nicolet Pro40 from www.ni.com, Since the labview driver
for Nicolet Pro40 required Visa 1.2, I installed the old visa version. Then when I called the "GPIB interactive Control" program,
I can not communicate with Nicolet Pro 40 anymore. It said that it can not find entry point inside Nipalu.dll.

Then I unstalled the visa 1.2, and reinstalled the Ni488-2.4. This time, I can not install it sucessfully. It seems that
it can not find the USB port anymore. Could you please tell me what happened here? and give me some advices to get it though. Thanks!

Normally later versions of VISA are upper-compatible to older versions.  Did you try the the driver with the latest NI-VISA?

As I see the NI dowload site, it is written that the Nicolet driver does require NI-VISA 1.2.  But I believe it means the minimal NI-VISA version requirement is 1.2 and will work with newer VISA versions such as NI-VISA 3.3.

Thanks for your information, and I still have problems for the communication with Nicolet pro 40 through the GPIB-USB-HS.
After I install VISA 3.2, when I run the labview application example, which comes with the Nicolet pro 40 labview driver, I got an error, which is generated inside the "Old VISA Open" function.   Is there any way to fix it?

Delete it and replace it with the regular VISA Open on the palette.
