how to give ascii command through serial port

I had a problem that when I type the ascii command to find the device"?".It shows a error 37. I 'am using serial port to communicate with the device.please help

I would help if you tell what you are using to produce this error !?!

You can find the explanation of error 37 yourself (if it is a LabVIEW error)

Did you use MAX to check if the serial port is available ?
