i need to read data from serial port

i am using code"serial to disc" to read data from serial port using rs232. my file is blank. do i need a daq card or what could eb the possible reasons.

What is this "serial to disc" code? What programming language is it and where did you get it?

i got the code from serial port solutions in labview..
i spoke to chris from ni and he says you will need to know driver info to be able to communicate.
secondly can i call you n talk to you regarding the same.
