ibconf - setup error after installation or board's configuration

Hello,

I've tried to install NI488.2 ver.1.7 GPIB-PC104 on NT4.0 machine. At the very end of installation got a window

'ibconf - setup error' with the following message: ' The I-488.2 software is not correctly installed. Please reinstall the NI-488.2
software. Once NI-488.2 software is properly installed, you can use ibconf to view and/or modify your

NI-488.2 settings.' The same window appears if I try to run NI config from the Control Panel.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hello Boris,

Have each reinstall resulted in the same error? What hardware are you using?  Do you get the same behaviour from the other Nt supported drivers? Are there aspects of the 1.7 driver that are needed?

Yes, every reinstalling yields the same error. My hardware is a very outdated SBC PCM-4896 running NTE 4.0 and NI PC/104-GPIB.

I've played a lot with manual modifications of registry and finally was able to have the drivers gpid-at.sys, gpibclsb.sys and gpibclsd.sys up and running and ibconf al least can be started. Nevertheless ibconfd doesn't finish configuration of the boards and shows the same error message at the stage of restarting NI software. I'll definitely try v1.3 drivers you've provided since I don't have to be bound to specific of v1.7
