lecroy 960 win7

Searching for a lecroy 960 oscilloscope driver under win7 64 bit.

Hi

trying to install a lecroy IVI driver found in the NI IDNET library under win7 64 bit, but it simply refuses to install.

Is there a real LabVIEW driver available or is a new installer for 64 bit in the works?

Hello Albert,

Is the driver linked below the one you are refering to?

http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=E3B19B3E9511659CE034080020E748...

I downloaded it an installed it on my 64bit Windows 7 laptop. It installed without any issue and I can find the VI's in my Instrument Driver pallet (in the lcwpxxx pallet). If it is indeed the same driver, can you give me more details of what is going wrong (i.e. error message, behaviour etc.)?

Many thanks in advance,

Hi Rik

I installed again ( got the message from the IVI compliance package that it already was installed) and now it installed.

Is a reboot essential after installing the IVI compliance package and before installin a specific driver?

Hello Albert,

I only had to restart LabVIEW. I did not do a reboot of the laptop. But when LabVIEW is open, it needs to be restarted after the install of an instrument driver (either IVI or Plug and Play)

I am glad that it is fixed.

Regards,

Rik

Hey Albert,

I tested this out on a clean 64-bit Win 7 machine and installed LabVIEW 2011, ICP 4.4, and finally the lcwpxxx IVI specific driver and everything installed without having to restart. I'm not sure why you specifically had to reboot but perhaps your machine was in need of a reboot anyway... =] It's good to hear that everything is up and running now.

Hi

I'm not claiming I had to reboot, but after a few days I anyway had rebooted.

My basic question is, do I need to install the IVI compliance package before I install the LeCroy driver?

Could that be the reason why it gave some problems?

Thanks for all the help

Hello Albert,

At least the IVI Compliance package is a required component for the LeCroy driver to work properly. I am not sure if the order of installation is important but I can imagine that a reboot puts required references and dependencies in place. In my case the IVI Compliance Package was already installed on my PC so yes I guess installing that first would be a better way to do it.

I agree wholeheartedly but curious if somebody really knows.

Hey Albert,

You do indeed need to have ICP 4.4 installed on your machine before you install any IVI specific drivers. If you try and install one then you will get this error which prevents you from completing the installation:

Thanks Lars

I did not see this message but maybe skipped it too fast.

Now it is clear for me.
