measure resistance continuously with Keithley 6517 electrometer

Hallo

I have a Keithley 6517 A  electrometer in my lab that i need to use for my experiments to measure the RESISTANCE depending on the time across rubber films. I use labview 7.1 and the hardware is a keithley KUSB-488A. I installed the the Labview  drivers correspending to the Keithley 6517  A, but i do not know how to use it. It will be great if some one can help me.

Nassi

First try the initialize vi, to see if LabVIEW knows how to acces the keithley gpib bus interface.
If that does not work search the forum on the keys: keithley gpib KUSB-488A and interfacing.
I hope that a software link between the hardware and LabVIEW is available.
Maybe a solution can be found on the keithley website.

Hallo Albert Geven,
First thank you for your answer.
The connection between the Keithley and  the USB adapter i am doing it.
My question is following:
I have programm Labview that measures the current. I have to change this programm in order to measure the resistance and not the current. I know that  I also have to use the correspending driver for the resistance. I find difficult to insert the resistance Labview driver to my Programm. I send you the both Programm also an example of driver Programm.
I would be grateful for you if you can help me. I send in this message the 3 programms as attachement file.
Best regards,
Nassi from Germany

Hallo Albert Geven,

I installed the software and hardware (version 9) using KUSB-488A. My question is : How can I know if the Keithley 6517a communicates with the Labview (version 7.1).
i would also say that the KUSB does not appear in NT measurement and automation.

The Kusb needs extra software to be visa driven.
I've never used it but search for passport and keithley on this forum

Hallo Stefan Henke,

As i said , i send you the Programm that measures the current via the time.May be we can use it to get the resistance via the time.

Since you did not use the driver in the first place and the wiring of the diagram is mostly a disaster, it's difficult to say how much work is involved. If you can understand the existing program and know the low level commands for the instrument, it might be simpler to just change those that configure the instrument. If you just need to switch from current to resistance, this should all be at the beginning. The reading of the data will be the same.
