I have problems with a NI PCMCIA-GPIB card in a SONY VAIO, model PCG-F403 running under Win98.
The PCMCIA controller correctly reports the card but it is not listed in Windows 'Device Manager', nor regognized by Measurement&Automation Explorer (MAX2.0) or by using troubleshooting.exe from the NI288.2/bin directory.
I have version 1.70 of GPIB software installed (freshly downloaded from NI's website).
The PCMCIA-Socket is a Ricoh RL/RB5C478, the driver is from Microsoft (date 5-5-1999). This driver reports the correct card, no matter if I do a 'hot' or a 'cold' plug-in. The system's device manager does not 'see' it, nor any other software like MAX etc. Under 'device manager-->System' no conflicts are reported,
The card it
self is o.k.: it works fine on another SONY (identical hardware)!!
