"fedora 11" GPIB-USB-HS Install

Will Fedora 11 be supported for this GPIB-USB-HS device. I'm bothered the web page to order this thing only listed Linux and for an expensive item it doesn't install. Notice the order page is very specific about supported windows releases. I really want to use my linux box with this device instead of my windows system that isn't even on my lab bench and so any help would be appreciated.

I got past the initial problems with the forum help, but at the nikal I'm stuck even 1.9 doesn't work.

Is my problem related to this thread answer?

Hard to know if the problems are still ongoing problems given the help in some threads is many years old. Thanks

Well, instead of waiting for an answer I got the other software installed that was linked by the developer. It all seems to work fine and I am able to configure my spectrum analyzer and download trace data.

So is the software on the disk that came with this hardware useful at all or is it all throw away? Anything, that can be installed for any reason?

Why doesn't NI add a link to that guys web page for Linux OS's not supported in their README? I wasted a bunch of time trying to get the NI stuff working. I was upset and almost tried to get an RMA to replace for the windows version...phew.

Hi riverotter,

Just to clarify for you, Fedora 11 is not currently a supported Linux distribution. A list of supported distributions can be found on the driver page for the Linux version of 488.2.

I'm glad to hear you were able to get things up and running!

Best Regards,
