string from scan

Dear Engineer,

I have always a problem with Scan From String node,I am using a VISA
Virtual Instrument, and I want to get data from Serial Port by using VISA
virtual instrument.I am having always the error code 85.Why is there a
problem?After VISA READ VI there is a connection with SCAN FROM STRING and then the
output of SFString connected to Waveformchart.Always there is a error message, it is said that "An input parameter is invalid".Which Parameter is this?I couldnot see no parameter in my program to adjust.What should I do? Can you help me?Or do you have more information?

You don't have anything wired to the format string input of Scan From String? You need something there (the missing parameter), to tell the function how to convert the input string. Right click the function and select Help for details on format strings or you can right click and select Edit Scan String. When you do that, you can select the type of operation and the format string will be created for you.
