usb to usb through d-sub

I have an instrument inside a vacuum chamber that needs to be connected to an outside PC through a USB cable.

However, the vacuum chamber has 9 pin D-sub feedthrough only. Is there a way to get the USB connection going through the d-sub? (i.e. an adapter to connect the USB to the D-sub inside the chamber and another adapter to connect the D-sub to USB outside the chamber).

I don't think a usb to serial converter is what is needed.

You probably can wire the 4 pins of the usb connector to 4 pins of the subd connector.

Be careful to keep the wiring as short as possible. especially for the twisted + and - signals. The power is not a problem.

And maybe an option to shiled the two information wires with as much ground around their positions but keep the signals next to each other (no ground inbetween)
