visa clear takes too long to run

In some computers "VISA Clear" takes too long to run. Why?

For example, what is your system configuration? your application (PXI or else)?

What do you mean by "too long"? Do you have any time estimation?

Each 2 s I write 5 bytes and read 128, if I place a "clear" after the read, or before the write, I will wait 7 to 10 s

The default timeout is 10 seconds. It sounds like something may be timing out.  Put an indicator on the error wires to see if any errors are occuring.

No it is not. At the computer where I am replying now, I have the application running with clear without problems
