I just upgraded to labview 9 and upgraded to windows 7 64bit.
Vi's that had been working fine now no longer work, the culprit is the resource name of serial configure.
Normally you click refresh in the drop down menu and a list of com ports will appear, however that is no longer happening after the updates.
Even when I manually type in the correct comm port, the visa is not capturing data from that port. Using a terminal program like siow or hyperterminal I can still connect and communicate with my hardware, it seems to be a labview/windows problem.

Hello eximo,
Can you see the COM ports in MAX as the VISA IO resource polls the com ports from the MAX. Check following knowledgebases
link1, link2 and link3 also I was wondering after the upgrade did you re-install all the drivers, if not here is the latest VISA driverwhich is compatible with Windows 7.
Thanks and have a great holidays !

I am also having this issue. I am attempting to put LabVIEW software that worked fine on Windows XP on a Windows 7 machine. In Windows 7 the COM ports appear in the device manager but when I try to select them from the drop down list in LabVIEW they do not appear. Clicking refresh fails to populate the list.
I tried the VISA driver linked in the above post but it didn't resolve the issue.
Has anyone had this problem? Or does anyone know a solution?
I am running LabVIEW version 8.6.1.
