Access the LCD on MCB2300 board from LPC2378 target ?

Hi Everyone,

I have an evaluation board ARM MCB 2300 with Microcontroller LPC-2378. I want to program this board by using LabVIEW Embedded Module for ARM 2009.

Currently, I'm having a problem to access the LCD through the MCU target. I have been able to utilize the LCD perfectly though the MCB 2300 target as the subVI to call the LCD function are already provided. However I can't get access to most of the microcontroller pins if I build my VI under MCB2300 target. Hence, I tried to build my VI under LPC 2378 target and this way I can access many GPIO pins for my programming part. The problem is once I create the VI under LPC target, I'm no longer able to utilize the LCD subVIs. Is there any method to call the LCD function through the VI under LPC2378 target?

Your help is very much appreciated

Thanks!

Hey,

I'll see if I can recreate this issue here and let you know what I find.  Keep an eye out for a response from me.

Is there a specific pin or set of pins that you cannot see in the elemential IO list when targeting the MCB2300?

Hi Sam,

Thanks for your response.

If I create a VI under MCB 2300 target and want to add elemental I/O, I can't utilize the GPIO pins from the MCU as they're not available under MCB 2300 target. I can only see INT0 as digital input from this target.

Actually, I still can create a VI under this target and then create my main VI under LPC 2378 target. When I want to utilize the LCD, I will call the VI under MCB 2300 target and pass my value in Main VI. All I need to run is the Main VI only. However in that case I still need to target the MCB 2300. I wonder if anyone has more simple method?

Thanks!

Hey Sam,

thanks very much for your time. Back then, I was working on a project and in the end I used the method that I have described in my previous post. It's not really urgent anymore but I appreciate if you can help me finding another method. It might be one of the good way for the learning process.

Thanks!
