Would find it useful for LabVIEW to have 2D and 3D controls the user can manipulate ( via mouse click/drag, imported equations, etc. ) with objects ( points, line, shapes, etc. ) and output the shapes as equations and/or 2D/3D arrays. Would be able to zoom/pan like a typical chart indicator, apply constraints, etc. See a 2D example with notes at the following :
