64-bit versions of LabVIEW

Hello:

I am going to be testing the 64-bit version of LabVIEW soon.  But the major code that I want to port to it also uses Vision and Advanced Signal Processing Toolkit.  Therefore, I am VERY, VERY interested in 64-bit versions of those toolkits.  I work at times with 100s of high resolution images and to effectively have no memory addressing limitation that 64-bit offers will be a significant advance for me.  Right now, I post-process with the 64-bit version of ImageJ to do some of the work that I need with huge image sets.

From the 64-bit LabVIEW FAQ:

Q. Which LabVIEW modules, in addition to NI Vision, are available for 64-bit PCs?
A. The NI Vision Module is the only module available for 64-bit PCs.

So the Vision Module is available, but I agree with wanting a 64-bit ASP Toolkit.

Thanks for letting me know about the 64-bit edition of Vision.  I spoke to several members of NI staff at NIWeek and they apparently were not aware of this either.  I will have to read the FAQ for more information.  Yes, I also need the ASP 64-bit or my code will not run unless I scrub it of a bunch of its functionality.

I've just finished installing the 64-bit version of LabVIEW 2009 under 64-bit Windows 7 Professional.  However as noted above very few toolkits and modules are available for this version. Some of those MIA include MathScript, VI Analyzer, Advance Signal Processing Toolkit, etc. I realize development and testing takes time but think it's reasonable to ask that NI put up a table or chart of toolkits and modules clearly showing which ones are available/compatible with 64-bit LabVIEW, as well as timelines for when these will be available.

The Advanced Signal Processing Toolkit should be of the highest priority to make 64-bit since, like Vision and LabVIEW itself, it is specifically designed to operate on data.  It is a show-stopper for me not to have it available now.  I am hoping this can be addressed very soon.

I am now testing the 64-bit edition of ASP toolkit.  See:

However, have to second Magma's comment as I also need the Mathscript 64-bit port as well.  It would be great if we could get a firmer estimate from NI when a true 64-bit edition is planned.

Sincerely,

Don
