Add shortcut for switching to Project Explorer

Status: Already Implemented

You can press Ctrl-Shift-E to go from a VI window to the corresponding VI in the project window

Often I need to grab a VI that's part of a class or just a loaded VI from the project explorer. In normal cases I have about 10 - 30 windows open and thus it takes some time to find the project explorer of the active VI, especially when I don't remember the name or there are dozens with the same name thanks to OOP. Luckily there is the option to find it through the menu Window >> Show Project. However.

As I'm already a heavy user of the keyboard with all the shortcuts in LabVIEW, it would be nice to have a shortcut combination to switch quickly to the project explorer of the active VI. Which combination is not important for me, as anything could memorized.

ctrl+shift+E takes you to the current VI in the project tree.

Additionally, Menu>>Window>>Show Project pops the Project Explorer to  frontmost without changing the PE View.  Better! A custom Menu Shortcut can be added to your LabVIEW Config file with "Tools>>Options>>Menu Shortcuts.  Thusly:

An absolutely wonderful IDEA- No wonder that it is already available

Jeff, I also have it configured as a shortcut, but I found Ctrl+Q to be a more convenient one.

Thanks for the help!

Ctrl + Shift + E works fine, it's already in my system.

I use Ctrl+Shift+E all the time, but sometimes I want to get to the project without losing my current position in it, and then I use my customized Ctrl+Q.

Instead of configuring a shortcut (nice idea, by the way) I am used to press "Alt-w-w".    This old-school operating on a menu by keystrokes works for an out of the box installation of LabVIEW.

Ctrl+Shift+W is also an option, especially when having more than one project opened and lots of VIs. Select the 'Type' column to filter by project. It seems to be an overlooked feature by many developers, and I use it quite often.

I meant to come back to this earlier but it was off topic

Because I change clients so often and co-develop with others on their machine Ctrl+Q could be a bit embarrassing if I tried it next to someone else.  (I never want to "Quit LabVIEW" accidentally)  Why did you re-purpose that shortcut?

Because I don't work on other people's machines as often and it's a convenient location.

It actually seems rather silly to have a quit shortcut for an IDE. How often would that be useful? How often would it just cause you to accidentally close things? NI should probably not have assigned it for that action.
