but if this information is available directly in the in the Context Help Window ...
it would be much easier !
I see that you enabled the extra context help for scripting option. When this option is enabled and you have actual I/O in the VI, each I/O should already have its position next to its name in the CH window. Is that not enough?

Be able to see positions "after" is not very useful. (I already know this information)
It is "before" that it would be interesting to have this information, and this for all I/O. (especially for scripting)
