I often use shared variables based on a clustered custom control, to store data in an organised way. What I am finding to be really annoying is that the calling VI sometimes complains of a broken variable, but, when I open the variable there is no clue as to what the problem is. In fact the problem turned out to be that the custom control had unapplied changes but it took me a bit of experimenting around to find this. What would be really handy would be if the shared variable form had a broken arrow on it (as with a VI) so that the error could be followed on to the custom control form, and then a similar broken arrow on the custom control form.
