Certain templates, standard actors, HALs, MALs should be part of the framework e.g. TDMS Logger Actor, DAQmx Actor. Right now the framework feels naked when you start with it, and substantial effort is required to prepare it for real application development. The fact that standard solutions would not be perfect for everyone should not prevent us from providing them, because still 80% of programmers will benefit.

I don't think 80% of the programmers use AF...

I mean the 80% of programmers who use AF would benefit. I think the number of AF programmers is low because of this very problem, a chicken and egg situation. People would use AF if it had more standard templates and measurement actor, hardware actors etc. so they don't have to write them. They will not get those until there is enough people using AF.

You should start by proposing such a template.  I would suggest a DAQmx one.
