Create SubVI just by selecting wires

Today you can create a subVI by selecting a portion of the code and selecting Edit->Create SubVI from the menu bar. I use this a lot. But you need to have something, VI, indicator, control, etc in your selection to create the SubVI. Wouldn't it be nice to just be able to select some wires and do Edit->Create subVI?

The new subVI should get inputs and outputs to match the wires you selected as per the image below.

This could be a variant of the "Insert New VI" - option described in the idea and discussion here.

Kind of similar, but not exactly the same. Btw I posted an opinion in your idea.

Not similar, exactly the same. Weird that I didn't find it when I searched before I pos.....scratch that. Went back and checked my default search settings. Big fat checkmark missing next to Discussion Forums. Case solved. Sorry for the wasted post, will add my kudos to the prior idea (kudos where kudos is due) and hope a friendly mod will read this and close as duplicate. Thanks for the detective work Darin /David

Well, the great illustrations actually add quite a bit to the idea-  would you be so kind as to re-post on the original thread?

Jeff, good suggestion. Posted the image and a link to this post for reference.
